  7. Description
  8. -----------
  9. LanExplorer is a protocol analyzer & network monitor featuring internet
  10. traffic analysis.  LanExplorer provides visibility to your network traffic -
  11. from high level statistics down to detailed packet information.

  14. Protocol analyzer and network monitor with Internet traffic analysis.
  15. Native Win32 application program for Windows 95/98/NT4.0.
  16. Uses existing Ethernet, Fast Ethernet or Token Ring NIC.
  17. Intercepts packets in and out of the workstation or server.
  18. Captures all packets from the network segment (promiscuous mode).
  19. Decodes 802.3, 802.5, VLAN, Apple, Novell, Microsoft, TCP/IP protocols.
  20. Displays accumulated and historical network statistics in graphical formats.
  21. Shows historical statistics with threshold and alarm.
  22. Tells who was connecting to what Internet site.
  23. Discovers all local PC hosts in different network segments.
  24. Shows host name instead of MAC/IP address in all application windows.
  25. Queries DNS to translate remote IP address into Internet site name.
  26. Token Ring support (v2.2) will be available in August 98.
  27. Distributed LanExplorer (v3.0) will be available in October 98.

  29. Driver Installation
  30. -------------------
  31. To install driver on Windows NT 4.0 system, follow procedures below:
  32. 1. Insert LanExplorer CD-ROM or the Driver Disk of LanExplorer package
  33. 2. Select [Control Panel]|[Network] from desktop
  34. 3. Go to the [Services] tab and click "Add..." button
  35. 4. Click "Have Disk..." button
  36. 5. Specify either [Floppy Driver]:\ or [CD-ROM Drive]:\Drivers directory
  37.    which contains Intellimax NT service driver and then click OK
  38. 6. [Select OEM Option] dialog box will then be shown with
  39.    "Intellimax NT Service" selected. Click OK.
  40. 7. Remove Driver Disk from the floppy drive or CD-ROM drive
  41. 8. Follow the message to reboot your system

  46. trial version for purposes of individuals evaluating LanExplorer for
  47. purchase/licensing.
